All blogs are found on one domain : www.thehrisworld.com. To visit any of our blogs, just go to the Main Menu and click on ‘Verticals’ then ‘Latest Articles’ to get started.
As our blogs grow, we will migrate to separate domains with an interactive linkage to provide a seamless navigation from one to the other.

In 2013, we will be launching a weekly newsletter that will have articles NOT in our blog so be sure you sign up for our newsletter!

The focus of The HRIS World blog is to provide a focal point for new concepts, emerging technologies, and benchmarks by communicating and developing the new ideas within the HRIS industry. This includes…

All this is provided to you by our guest bloggers, our regular contributors, as well as our staff.
Many of our articles on focused on emerging technologies while just as many are focused on what is already working.
In all aspects, we maintain a professional stand in integrity, presentation, and information.
The HRIS World Research Network
We are also seeking ideas and thoughts from the best minds (and hearts) in these areas.
HRIS is very dependent upon emerging technologies, changing methodologies, innovation, and most importantly – people.
There are forums already available, some require paid membership others are free for the asking.
All are focused on a specific area within Cloud, ERP, HRIS, HR Technology, or Career Management.
We believe we may be the first to focus on the industry as a whole.
Our Research Network is interested in what works, why it works, conditions that allow it work, assessing what didn’t work and assessing what needs to be changed.
Recently initiated, the launch of this Network is scheduled for late 2012. As ideas are not free, there will be a tiered paid-membership as well as invite-only memberships.
The information that comes from these ideas will sharpen anyone’s knowledge and career.
As with the beginnings of The HRIS World, what this Research Network will look like will be entirely up to our members.
We are here to provide a forum where the exchange of ideas, innovations, emerging methodologies and technologies, and what-ifs can be shared publicly as well as privately.
We already have a roster of those interested in becoming a member – just send your inquiry and we will get back to you with the details.

Garrett O’Brien
Before becoming the publisher, editor, and principal writer for The HRIS World publications, Garrett had been providing services as a Client Executive Sponsor (CES) for HRIS implementations to the Fortune 50 as well as SMB’s throughout the United States for more than 18 years.
His role as a client executive sponsor provided our clients with an experienced oversight resource that was client-centric.
With his experiences as a CES, Garrett brings years of functional and technical know-how, SDLC, SLMC, and project experience to the same table.
His sponsorship skills also provides oversight and experienced guidance for complex projects implementing multi-provider (such as ADP and PeopleSoft) as well as multi-line systems (2 or more products from the same provider).

- Changes since last login are automatically displayed as soon as you login – no looking for updates!
- Post a comment – this is the home page as well as the discussion area. It maintains a list-serv structure so all threads remain with the original posting.
- Calendar- shared calendars to keep track of all group meetings, events, practices, deadlines, calls, and more. You can opt-in to receive text message and email reminders of upcoming events, customized the way you want them. You can schedule events for your whole group or just certain individuals. You can also import existing calendars into this calendar, or export your group’s calendar to any other calendar you already use. Your calendar will automatically adjust to your computer’s local time zone.Adding an event to the calendar allows you to select date, time (your time or use the all-day option), flag the event as recurring as daily, weekly, monthly or annually. You can set a reminder for your event anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 week before your event – and receive that reminder by text, email, or both. Who will receive your event notification is determined by you, including any sub-groups you may want to notify. All events can be scheduled a year in advance.Your calendar can be synched with your Google, Yahoo!, Outlook or Apple calendar…
- Folders – upload or create a file or add a link to a file to share. Store, edit documents, photos, audio, video, and links. You can make changes to Word documents and Excel spreadsheets from within the application, and all the previous versions of the file will be saved and bundled together for simple revisioning. Subfolders can be created as well.
- Host live Virtual Meetings, Conference Calls, and group Chat Rooms. Virtual Meetings include real-time video conferencing, screen sharing, file sharing and white boarding. These meeting features make it seamless to talk and collaborate with your group members when you’re not able to meet in person. Meetings automatically appear on the participants calendars.
- Polls to get your group members’ opinions quickly and easily. You can ask multiple choice, yes/no, or short answer questions. You can view the results in real-time as they come back, in an organized format.
- Messages lets you send mass text messages, emails, sticky notes and voice messages to your group members. You can easily get in touch with all of your members when you need them. (these are some powerful options and may be considered if this group votes to consent to its use).
- To-Do Lists to keep track of tasks, assignments, projects and more. You can assign certain items to certain individuals, and they can check items off the list as they are completed.
- Feedback option allows all users to provide suggestions or report bugs and problems… and unlike other services, the service provides a response to those needing one as long as you provide an email address.
- Demo account allows you to test features of the group without affecting anything in the production account.
