What Happened to The HRIS World – Getting to Our Pages from the Main Menu…
In our first announcement of our re-launch with a new format, WOW! What Happened to The HRIS World, we made it known we are going to be 3 blogs at one location…
- The HRIS World : providing industry relevant articles, only occasionally vendor specific, mostly industry-centric
- The HRIS Career World : for jobs, recruiting, and career management
- Sigma Projeto : to be launched in March, to discuss the basics (and not-so-basics) of project management with a focus on the USA and Brazil (we invite others to write for their own country, in English, if anyone so desires).
Our Main Menu
We will be providing our features of our blog in a category that you can reach from the main menu – all you have to do from the main menu at the top of every page, is simply click ‘blogs’ and then ‘blog features’. You will also see links for our separate blogs listed along with the ‘blog features’ link. We have bought ourselves a very flexible template that provides ease of navigation that will displaying as much as possible without inundating you with information.
One of the features for our articles is seen below.. instead of a long page, we can map out sections to provide easier reading… sort of like a newspaper, without the print getting on your fingers…
about us
The home page is where everyone arrives in almost all websites. It also like the front door to any home, as soon as that door opens you have, at a high level, an indication of what to expect. The main menu is controlled by categories and select pages. Naturally, we have an ‘about us’ page and have added our privacy policy, our contact page, a page for our RSS feeds (though looking at this right now, something is amiss with the podcast feed, will have to fix that!), and for any writing enthusiasts we have provided our guidelines to be a contributor to The HRIS World.
For now, the last 5 posted articles will appear in the presentation viewer — an image 943×345 to provide a feeling of what the article is about. We have researched a bit and found images does bring a sense of energy and excitement to the reader, not to mention it is much easier on the eyes. Shall we say, a picture is worth a thousand words? Nah, we won’t say that…
store
With growth comes the need to provide, and those provisions are not free. Some where we all have to pay the piper, and this is true with blogs as well as anything else. Every one that has tried to go free usually remains very local and limited — nothing wrong with be local and limited, but the HRIS industry is from from local and far from limited. So we need to find a need to fulfill and we know everyone reads. Most are now going to e-Readers and the most popular is Amazon. If had been anyone else, we would have gone there, but Amazon is the King of the Jungle for now. Every book will be offered in the Kindle format HOWEVER most books are available in several formats, just be sure to change the format to one of your liking once you are ready to order.
If you have any book suggestions, then by all means, let us know! You can’t be every where and neither can we — so we look out for each other. OK? OK!
SEARCH
This is a MUST for any website that has many articles and we are already past the 100 point. And we have a wide spectrum of categories. So an ordinary search box was not going to be flexible enough for your needs. Click the SEARCH link on the Main Menu and you will see you can choose several options to search: by page, and/or by post, and/or month and year, and/or category, and/or keyword(s) using the standard comma separation and quotes for a string (like “hr technology”, otherwise hr technology will look for both words individually)
sitemap
A listing of our pages, categories, tags, and our authors. The Pages and Categories listings are in hierarchical order, providing a drill down to 5 levels in some cases. Site maps are not the most romantic part of any website but they are very functional… Sorry, no candles to be found here.
That covers the pages to be found from our Main Menu… Next time, we will discuss the categories that expand from the main menu. I know, you can’t wait… BUT, at least there is a reference here for you in the future…
Any comments are appreciated… Let us know what you think! Do you have a topic you want to see us write about? or research and write about? Let us know!
